This windows design is perfect for embroidery and makes a great starting point for a modern sampler. Printed in my studio onto tactile linen and cotton fabrics. These panels are ideal for embellishing with stitches, using in patchwork and other craft projects.
Retro inspired, the design 'windows' is one of my most popular amongst embroiderers, scroll through the images to see a sample I stitched into and went on to make it into a 'modern sampler' and a book cover embroidered by my Mum.
The linen and linen / cotton blend fabrics are best for embroidering into as they have a looser weave and wonderful texture.
*please note the finished sampler was made with a smaller panel version of this design, once the screen became damaged I had a new one made with larger print dimensions*
Windows, printed in a deep forest green.
- printed area measures approx 50 x 32cm (19.5 x 12.5") - printed with water based inks - heat set and fully washable at 30 degrees, iron on a warm setting on reverse of print
printed on a choice of basecloth: - white 100% cotton which is smooth and perfect for quilts - white 54% linen / 46% cotton blend which has the beautiful texture of medium weight linen - natural coloured 100% linen All three fabrics are shown in the last image.
Hand screen printed in my London studio. Small imperfections may be present, these will be minor and part of the beauty of buying handprinted fabrics.
Some shrinkage will occur after washing, this is a feature of natural fibres, please allow for this or prewash before using in your projects.
